Steering response was clean, and the overall handling felt planted and composed, with no real vices to manage. In the snow, straight line acceleration varied, sometimes depending on how aggressively traction control intervened, which made it difficult to build any kind of confidence in the tire. Around the circle, the front end lacked authority and the rear consistently reached its limit first, which would be fine if driving sideways was the goal, but it was not. It was never abrupt, but once we were over the limit, recovery required time and careful, deliberate input, which really limited how hard it could be driven. For the simulated off ramp, usable speed topped out below the target threshold - around 27 mph - throttle lift just resulted in more rotation, and braking pushed the front. On the ice, the Open Country A/T III was fine, 52.6 feet to stop from 12 mph and 6.42 seconds to accelerate to 60', which put it squarely in the lower-mid pack for the test.

Stiff over small impacts, and only moderately forgiving on larger ones, this was one of the more aggressive rides we experienced. Over sharper bumps and bridge joints it felt jarringly rigid. Noise volume was consistently high, with multiple tones present: booming bass notes and humming layers across all surfaces and speeds. Steering was usable, but not particularly sharp. At low speeds it felt rubbery, like it was a step behind. At higher speeds, it firmed up slightly, but didn't cross the threshold into becoming truly precise. Acceptable for a truck, but never more than that.
